Early Life and Education

Kumar was born in a family with a background in the medical field in the Agra district of the Uttar Pradesh State of India on 27 January 1964.

Kumar studied in Gorakhpur, Lucknow, and Kanpur during his early days and has remained a topper in the 10th and 12th board examinations in Uttar Pradesh.

Gyanesh Kumar has a family background of doctors, but he chose to pursue his career in technology and civil services.

Kumar completed his B.Tech from IIT Kanpur in Civil Engineering and then studied Business Finance at one of the largest private university groups in India, the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI).
